These terms cover your use of GooseCreek.SC (www.GooseCreek.sc), including Gary, our AI guide, the business directory, bookings, local delivery, and paid plans for businesses. By using the site you agree to them. GooseCreek.SC is an independent community guide. It is not run by or affiliated with the City of Goose Creek.

Gary and the information on this site

Gary is an AI. He uses our directory, local sources and web searches, and he can be wrong or out of date. Check anything important (dates, prices, hours, school or city information) with the source.
Nothing on the site is legal, medical, financial or other professional advice.
In an emergency, call 911. Don't rely on Gary or this site for emergencies.
Business listings, events and phone numbers come from owners, public sources such as OpenStreetMap, and our own research. We try to keep them accurate but can't promise they are.

Your account

You must be at least 18 to create an account, book services, order delivery or sign up a business.
Keep your sign-in details to yourself. You're responsible for what happens under your account.
You can delete your account any time, as described on our Privacy page.

Bookings, quotes and orders

When you book a service or ask for a quote, the agreement is between you and the business. We pass your request along but don't provide the service, set its prices or guarantee its work.
Delivery orders are prepared by the store and delivered by independent drivers. You pay through PayPal at checkout. Delivery times are estimates. If something is wrong with an order, contact us and we'll work with the store to fix it or refund you where appropriate.

Business listings and paid plans

Any Goose Creek business can be listed free. You may only list or claim a business you own or are authorized to represent, and the details you give must be accurate.
Paid plans (and the Website + hosting + domain package) are monthly subscriptions billed through PayPal. They renew each month until cancelled. You can cancel any time from your business page or your PayPal account; cancelling stops future charges, and the plan stays active to the end of the period you've paid for. We don't refund partial months unless the law requires it.
The Website + hosting + domain package is included at no extra charge while your business is on the Premium plan. If you leave Premium, the package continues only if you subscribe to it separately.
For website packages, we register a domain name for your business, host the site and keep it running while your subscription or Premium plan is active. If you cancel, ask us within 30 days and we'll help you move your domain to you or another provider.
Paid placement ("Featured", "Sponsored" and Premium) is labeled. "Gary's Pick" and "Goose Creek Favorite" are our own editorial labels and can't be bought.
We may change plan prices with at least 30 days' notice by email; PayPal also notifies subscribers before a price change takes effect.

Hire Gary

Hire Gary is a monthly add-on for businesses on the Website + hosting + domain package, billed through PayPal per job and cancellable any time from Gary's desk or PayPal, on the same terms as other paid plans above.
Gary is an AI. He drafts posts, replies and messages for you to review. You decide what to post or send and you're responsible for it, including making sure it's accurate and follows the rules of the sites you post on and laws on advertising, email and text marketing.
When Gary chats with visitors on your website, he answers from the information you give him and tells visitors he's an AI if asked. He can make mistakes, and he doesn't make binding promises for your business. You're responsible for the information you give him and for following up with the people he connects you with.
Jobs marked "early access" are set up with you personally, and their automatic features are added over time. Monthly message limits may apply to keep the service fair for everyone.
The free check-up reads the public website you enter, or the business card photo you upload, to write its report. Only use it for a business you own or represent.

Tips for Gary

Tips are optional, one-time payments to GooseCreek.SC, made through PayPal, that help pay for Gary's AI credits and hosting. GooseCreek.SC is an independent business, not a charity, so tips aren't tax-deductible and don't buy any goods, services or special treatment.
If you tipped by mistake, contact us within 30 days and we'll refund it.
If you choose to show your name, we display your first name and last initial on the tip page. Notes you leave are only seen by us.

What you upload

You keep ownership of the photos, videos, descriptions and other content you give us. You allow us to show it on GooseCreek.SC and in Gary's answers, and to resize or format it for the site.
Only upload content you have the right to use. No illegal, misleading, hateful, sexual or violent content, no other people's private information, and no content that infringes someone else's rights.
We may review, edit for format, decline or remove listings, photos, videos or events at our discretion, including anything reported to us as inaccurate.

Acceptable use

Don't misuse the site: no scraping or bulk copying, automated or abusive use of Gary, attempts to break security, spam, fake bookings or orders, or impersonating someone else. We may suspend accounts or listings that break these terms.

Other sites and services

The site links to other websites and uses services such as PayPal, Google, Facebook, Apple, Twilio and Anthropic. Their own terms apply when you use them, and we aren't responsible for their content.

Disclaimers and limits

The site is provided "as is" and "as available". As far as the law allows, GooseCreek.SC isn't liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for the acts of businesses, stores, drivers or other users. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or $100 if you haven't paid us anything. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not all apply to you.

Changes and governing law

We may update these terms. If a change is significant, we'll post it here with a new date and, for paying businesses, email you. These terms are governed by the laws of South Carolina, and disputes will be handled in the courts of Berkeley County, South Carolina.
